A very warm welcome to the Arkengarthdale Church of England School website.

We are a single site village school providing a first rate education in an inspiring location for children aged 4 – 11 years. We provide:

  • A happy, rich, exciting and challenging environment in which each child is encouraged and nurtured to develop their true potential.
  • An innovative ‘village/town school’ collaboration with Richmond Methodist Schoolsince 2012, sharing a highly effective and experienced leadership team, outstanding teaching, training, best practice, and access to resources
  • Exceptional pupil/teacher ratios enabling pupils to follow individual learning programmes.  Children’s progress consistently exceeding national standards of attainment in reading, writing and maths.
  • A rich outdoor learning environment developed using our rural setting as a ‘third classroom’. Well-resourced weekly ‘Forest School’ sessions are led by our team of qualified instructors
  • Eleven subject specialists providing the latest expertise on every element of the curriculum and weekly sessions led by external sports, music and foreign language tutors.
  • Wake and Shake Club (from 8.00am) and After-School Care available (until 4.30pm) every day from January 2016 (link to wrap around care page in school information section)

We also believe that education is a partnership between school and home and that a close working relationship is vital. If you want to discuss anything to do with our school, please contact me. I always try to make time to see parents, current or prospective. The best way to get in touch with me is via e-mail or you can telephone the office. See the “Contact Us” section of the website.

Kind regards,

Helen Ring
